The Fading Magic of Instant Memories
Unfortunately, the very process that created your Polaroids also makes them vulnerable. Over the years, you may have noticed their vibrant colours begin to fade, shift towards yellow or magenta, or lose their sharp contrast. Each photo is a one-of-a-kind original; you can’t simply get a copy from a negative. This means that with each passing year, the memory itself is at risk of disappearing, locked away in a format that’s difficult to duplicate and share with family.
A Specialized Process for Your Polaroid Collection
Unlike standard photo scanning, preserving a Polaroid requires a specialized approach. That is why I use professional-grade flatbed scanning techniques specifically designed to handle their unique finish, minimize glare from the protective plastic coating, and faithfully capture the iconic white border. Every single photo is handled with meticulous care by me, Dave, and me alone. My process ensures your memories are not just copied, but truly preserved.

See the Transformation: Your Instant Memories, Revitalized
The difference between a fading, decades-old Polaroid and its carefully digitized counterpart is remarkable. What was once a fragile, fading object becomes a permanent, vibrant digital memory, ready to be shared with family and friends for decades to come.
Example: A faded Polaroid from the 1980s (left) is transformed into a sharp, colour-corrected digital image (right), restoring its original warmth and detail.
What Customers Are Saying
Easiest thing I’ve done in years. Dropped off a box, picked up digital files I could share with the world. My siblings have been laughing at our old beach photos for weeks.
Carol J.
I was worried the scanning would steal the soul of my Polaroids but Dave preserved that magical washed-out quality perfectly. They still look vintage but clear enough to actually recognize people.
David R.
Found a shoebox of Polaroids from the ’80s – back when we thought instant photos were so cool! Seeing those faded memories come alive on my computer was better than a high school reunion.
Linda H.
The truest echo of the past isn’t a picture, but the sound of a voice, reaching forward through the years to tell its story.

Frequently Asked Questions

How about the writing beneath the photo?
Yes I can include these but sometimes they can be tightly cropped in my speed scanner. If every millimeter of the photo is desired – please let me know during our consultation and we’ll scan these separately on our flatbed scanner (additional fees)

Can you improve the faded colours of old Polaroids?
Yes, to an extent. My scanning process includes software-based colour restoration that can often bring back some of the vibrancy and correct the colour shifts common in older Polaroids, making them look better than they have in years.

Will the digital copy include the white border?
Yes, absolutely. I scan the entire Polaroid, including its iconic white border, to preserve the classic look and feel of the original instant photo. The result is a perfect digital replica.
